Nysnö x Luminoso Brazil Retreat Program

Background and intention

Nysnö is a Swedish company run by psychologists with a passion for psychedelics and healing. Our work has focused on retreat programs using psilocybin truffles in the Netherlands, with the intention to develop a model for integrating psychedelic group work in Swedish/western healthcare. Our work, both on a personal and professional level, has been influenced by Brazilian daime/ayahuasca traditions, and this is how our paths crossed with Nei.

During the last year we have been working and exploring together, and now feel we are ready for the next step in this journey. The intention for this retreat program is to explore what it’s like to organize a retreat in Brazil and to learn from Nei’s long experience.

Meet the team

The preparation and integration process will be facilitated by clinical psychologists Filip Bromberg, Johan Eriksson and Elin Stahre from Nysnö, who will also be present as assistants to support the work during the stay in Brazil. Health screening will be conducted by MD and clinical psychologist Jesper Råback.

During the retreat, the process and sessions will be led by Nei. Nei originally comes from Brazil and is a musician by trade, having released several studio productions during the last decade. He also has a background in modern Brazilian medicine traditions, and has developed his own style "Luminoso" with a focus on music and singing. With his decade-long experience facilitating deep work both with and without medicine, we are thrilled to once again be working together.

Location

The location of the retreat will be Casa da Figueira, about 200 km from São Paulo. We believe that it’s an ideal location for this experience, due to the immediate nature access and convenient distance to São Paulo. This forest refuge is literally built in the trees, with a large waterfall less than 100 meters away. There are amazing forest walks around and the ocean is 9 km away. Upon request it is possible to arrive early and/or stay later than the dates for the retreat.

Travel

As a participant you are responsible for the journey to GRU Airport, São Paulo. Transfer from São Paulo to the venue (3 hours by car) and back is included in the price for the retreat program. You are recommended to arrive in São Paulo July 6th and stay for one night in Comfort Hotel Guarulhos Aeroporto, in order to arrive well-rested to the retreat. The transfer will depart from the hotel at 13.00 July 7th. The transfer from the retreat to São Paulo will depart July 15th at noon and arrive at GRU Airport 3 hours later.

The team will be available to answer questions about travel arrangements. If you are planning to travel in Brazil for a longer period (before or after the retreat), let us know! You can also ask any travel related questions in the Telegram group chat.

The Retreat

There will be a total of three sessions during the retreat (Day 2, 4, and 6). Our intention is to have plenty of time and space for nature immersion and contemplation. Depending on the needs of the group there may be additional offerings involving yoga, authentic relating, voice work and live music improvisation. There will be daily sharing circles and communal vegetarian meals, which are of course included in the price.

The format and style of the sessions will be different compared to what is common in a more "shamanistic" framework. Music and singing are key aspects to the way Nei works, and participants are invited to take an active role in co-creating the sessions. Of course, each participant will decide their level of participation. Don't hesitate to ask if you are curious about the session format.

If interested in participating, fill out the form below and pay a deposit of €500 to secure your spot and start the screening (the deposit will be reimbursed in case we identify any types of risk for you to participate). The cost can be deducted for employees as education under some legislations and conditions - if you are uncertain you should check with your company accountant. After the screening procedure is completed, a final invoice will be sent with a due date close to the first preparatory workshop.
